Being a raver is such a positive thing! We are all about good vibes, always there for each other, and on top of that have such a good time at raves, but sometimes the rest of the world doesn’t look at us in that way. Ravers seem to have a lot of horrible stereotypes that we get labeled with. Here are the 5 stereotypes that seem to follow us the most!

On October 18th, I received the privilege to discuss with Alex and Michael of the Pegboard Nerds about their roots, their inspirations, the EDM community in America, and any advice they could give for aspiring artists in the field. The duo has been touring the nation on the Journey Tour with Seven Lions, Unlike Pluto, and Grum, and their latest release, “BAMF”, has received positive reviews.

Well guys, Voodoo Fest did not disappoint. My first large scale festival journey was a success! What are unique festival experience I had this past weekend, and I only went for one day.  It was a refreshing experience to try out a new crowd, and I left with a new interest to explore many more festivals far away from my SoCal standards.

Every festival you have ever attended has had that moment. It doesn’t matter how many new connections you made, spectacular sets you experienced, or world-renowned DJs you got to meet. When you are looking back, there will always be that one single moment that seems to be frozen in time forever — A memory that you wish you could go back and re-live over and over again.

Camping festivals are a world of their own. They are my favorite; the vibes are unbeatable, and the party never stops. As a result of my obsessing for the next camp out, I prep early and excessively. As a result, here are some tips learned through trial and error. There’s a LOT to be said about camping fests, so I’m going to try to brief and keep an eye out for more in the future! Here are some words of advice focused on picking a campsite, sleeping soundly, and bringing food. 

Raving brings all people of different ages together for the music, culture, and lifestyle. There isn’t a ‘right’ age to experience your first rave and that’s the beauty of it, but once you start there’s no going back. The rush to attend as many events as possible becomes addicting and sometimes real life takes the back burner.

For the second year in a row Woogie Weekend has left me feeling like it’s a cannot miss festival of SoCal. The DoLab is the curator of good vibes, and let me tell you, they were great at Woogie. The festival was more vibrant and more full than its first year and it’s exciting to see how it has grown. Some highlights of the weekends included this giant slip and slide, the way each stage lit up at night, and the new friends I got to meet. 

Instagram is a powerful social media platform that connects ravers from all over the world through beautifully presented photos. I love going through event hashtags to reconnect with ravers I had met and traded with when I forget to exchange contact information. Sometimes you’re meant to only cross paths with a person once, but sometimes those small interactions blossom into friendship.
