A rave skirt is the easiest piece in a festival outfit to get wrong. Too short and it rides up the first time you jump; too heavy and it is a sweat trap by the second set; the wrong waistband and it slides all night. Styles vary as much as fit does: micro skirts, mesh wraps, pleated skaters, layered tulle and fringe. We scanned 8 stores' own skirt collections on September 28, 2026, and counted every rave skirt for sizes, plus sizes, micro, mesh and layered styles, stock, checkout price and reviews. Then we ranked the best festival skirts and picked winners for micro, mesh and layered. This guide is one spoke of our wider look at the best rave clothing brands.

Here is how we weighted it, and why.

Styles and range (25%). How many skirts, and how many kinds: micro, mini, mesh, pleated, layered and statement fabrics. We counted styles by the product's own name, never the description. Shelves here run from 30 to 102 skirts.

Fit, sizing and plus (25%). A skirt lives or dies at the waist and the hem. We read every size option and counted skirts with a numbered 1X or larger or a Plus size, and skirts in a letter 3XL. Two stores here offer a plus size or a 3XL on most of their skirts; two stop at L or XL.

Trust and reviews (20%). Score next to count. A 4.6 from 263 reviews, a 1.9 from 12 and an empty profile are three different signals, and all three are here. We also read on-site reviews on the skirts themselves for length, stretch and how they held up.

Selection in stock (15%). A skirt sold out in your size is no help the week before a festival. In-stock rates on scan day run from 67% to 100%.

Value at checkout (15%). What you pay, not the crossed-out number. Several stores show compare-at prices, so we scored the median checkout price and set each store's tier from its median regular price.

Price tier = each store's median regular price across its skirt collection, meaning the list price before any sale, with the tier lines drawn in the real gaps of this eight-store set: $ under $35 · $$ $35 to $54 · $$$ $54 to $74 · $$$$ $74 and up. iHeartRaves shows compare-at prices on most of its skirts, so the table also gives the median at checkout. Counts, stock, sizes and prices scanned September 28, 2026; Trustpilot scores checked on the same date.

The brands, reviewed

1. iHeartRaves

iHeartRaves wins this one as the balanced pick, not the biggest, and we will say so: five stores here list more skirts, and it does not win any of the three style tables below. What it does is avoid the weak spot every rival has. 29 of its 41 skirts come in a 1X to 3X, it has the strongest trust record here on a real review file, 38 of 41 were in stock, and the median at checkout was $39.99. The shelf leans skater, pleated and reflective, with a few mesh and layered pieces. Shop the women's rave skirts.

  • Styles and range: 41 skirts; 3 micro, 3 mesh and 4 layered by name; 5 pleated; reflective skater skirts.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: XS to XL, with a 1X to 3X on 29 of 41 (28 orderable).

Karla H., who is 5'8, on the Charge of Light Reflective Skater Skirt, April 2024: "I am usually a large and it did fit a little snug but nothing I can’t work with!" Stephanie, on the Charge of Light Reflective Skater Skirt, May 2026: "I’m normally an M and the skirt fit perfectly. Fabric and construction feels high quality."

2. Devil Walking

Devil Walking is the value pick and a close second. It lists 95 skirts, all 95 in stock, at a $28.88 median at checkout, the lowest here. 42 are minis by name and 11 are mesh, many in UV-reactive, sheer and velvet fabrics made for night stages. The limit is size: everything stops at XXL, with no plus run. Trust is solid at 4.2 on Trustpilot across 163 reviews. If your size is in its range, it is the cheapest way here to build a skirt wardrobe for a festival season, and reviewers say the pieces survive the wash.

  • Styles and range: 95 skirts; 42 mini and 11 mesh by name; 38 UV-reactive.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: letter sizes XS to XXL; no plus run.
  • Trust and reviews: 4.2 on Trustpilot across 163 reviews, claimed.

3. Coquetry Clothing

Coquetry Clothing has the best size run for skirts here: every one of its 95 rave mini skirts comes in a 3XL, and all 95 were in stock. Its signature is a build-your-own circle skirt in holographic, UV-reactive and metallic stretch fabrics, 40 of them holographic, and the circle cut flares when you spin. The median at checkout was $48.39. Trust is the problem. Its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed, with 12 reviews and a 1.9, though its own product pages carry plenty of reviews on the skirts, and they read well on comfort.

  • Styles and range: 95 skirts; 51 mini by name; 40 holographic; 22 UV-reactive.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: XXS to 3XL, with 3XL on 95 of 95.

Shayna Nichols, on the Build Your Own Circle Cut Skirt, August 2023: "It is a little shorter than I had expected, but it’s still super cute and fits nicely otherwise."

4. Dolls Kill

Dolls Kill's festival skirt edit is small, 30 skirts, but it is one of only two stores here with a numbered plus size on skirts: a 1X on 10 of them, 6 orderable. The edit leans micro and mini, 19 minis by name, 3 of them micro, plus pleated and faux leather pieces. Stock was 20 of 30, a 67% rate and the lowest here. The median at checkout was $45.15. Trust is middling on a huge file, 3.5 on Trustpilot across 8381 reviews. Reviewers say the minis run short.

  • Styles and range: 30 skirts; 3 micro and 19 mini by name; pleated and faux leather.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: XXS to XXL, with a 1X on 10 of 30 (6 orderable).
  • Trust and reviews: 3.5 on Trustpilot across 8381 reviews, claimed.
  • Selection in stock: 30 listed, 20 in stock, 67%, the lowest here.
  • Value at checkout: $$$ tier; the median at checkout was $45.15.

Summary of online reviews. Its own product reviews on its floral mini are about length. Morgan J., on the Tales Of Fantasy Mini Skirt - Floral, April 2025: "It fits really well, but it’s super short! Just fair warning for my big booty girlies." Chelsea M., on the Tales Of Fantasy Mini Skirt - Floral, September 2025: "I sized down as it was the only size available, love it, it has good stretch!"

5. Rave Wonderland

Rave Wonderland has the biggest skirt shelf here, 102, and a wide mix: 10 micro and 18 mesh skirts by name, plus holographic, metallic, sequin, vinyl and pleated pieces. Stock holds it back, 79 of 102 in stock, a 77% rate, and sizing is narrow, with a 3XL on 4 of 102. The median at checkout was $39.95. Trustpilot is thin at 2.5 from 5 reviews, but its product pages carry reviews on the skirts, and its mesh tie skirt has a long run of them.

  • Styles and range: 102 skirts, the most here; 10 micro and 18 mesh by name; 26 metallic, 23 holographic.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: XS to 2XL, with a 3XL on 4 of 102.

  • Selection in stock: 102 listed, 79 in stock, 77%.
  • Value at checkout: $$ tier; the median at checkout was $39.95.

Summary of online reviews. We read the product reviews on its mesh tie skirt instead of the 5-review Trustpilot file. Brianna Colchado, on the Spin Me Round Mesh Tie Skirt, December 2021: "Very nice quality, fit perfect and was a reasonable length so my butt wasn't sticking out" M.T., on the Spin Me Round Mesh Tie Skirt, July 2022: "Extremely stretchy and very versatile!"

6. Born in Stockholm

Born in Stockholm makes statement festival skirts: 42 of them, 12 layered by name, in tulle, feather, fringe and sequin, all in stock. These are the skirts people photograph, and they are priced like it, a $69 median at checkout. Sizing is narrow, S to L or one size, which rules them out for a lot of buyers. Its Trustpilot score is the highest here, 4.7, but on 37 reviews and an unclaimed profile. Reviewers love the finish and warn that big sequins can shed, so treat the sequin pieces as night-one statement skirts rather than all-weekend wear.

  • Styles and range: 42 skirts; 12 layered by name; 12 tulle, 10 fringe, 10 sequin.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: S to L and one size.
  • Trust and reviews: 4.7 on Trustpilot across 37 reviews, unclaimed.
  • Selection in stock: 42 listed, 42 in stock, 100%.
  • Value at checkout: $$$ tier; the median at checkout was $69.

Summary of online reviews. Its Trustpilot file talks about build, with one honest warning. Daniella Voigt, September 2026: "They are really well made, high quality, it’s just stunning!" Alina Everett, September 2026: "The large sequin outfits can be a little hard to put on and the large sequins tend to fall off"

7. ChillFit Rave

ChillFit Rave sells handmade rave skirts, 38 of its 60 described as handmade, with 17 mesh skirts by name and a lot of sheer, rhinestone and tulle detail. 54 of 60 were in stock, and the median at checkout was $45. Sizes run XXS to XXL, with no plus run. Trust is the gap: there is no Trustpilot profile, and its on-site reviews are store reviews, not reviews on individual skirts, so there is little to go on beyond the photos and the size chart. Order early if you want a handmade piece for a specific date.

  • Styles and range: 60 skirts; 17 mesh and 19 mini by name; 38 handmade.
  • Fit, sizing and plus: XXS to XXL and one size; no plus run.
  • Trust and reviews: no Trustpilot profile; store reviews only on its site.
  • Selection in stock: 60 listed, 54 in stock, 90%.
  • Value at checkout: $$ tier; the median at checkout was $45.

Summary of online reviews. We could not verify product quotes for ChillFit: its site shows store reviews rather than reviews on individual skirts, and it has no Trustpilot profile.

8. Outcast

Outcast sells festival skirts as part of its co-ord line: 58 skirts, 43 of them minis by name, plus maxis in lace and satin that pair with matching corset tops. 51 of 58 were in stock, and the median at checkout was $65, the highest of the piece-by-piece shops here. Sizes run XXS to XL, with no plus run, and its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed with 0 reviews. Its own product pages carry reviews on the skirts, and they talk about fit and flow. A few more names worth knowing

Etsy is where to find custom and made-to-measure rave skirts, including longer lengths and sizes no store here stocks; the trade-off is turnaround time and a different size chart from every seller. Beginning Boutique, which we ranked in our rave sets post, sells festival skirts as part of boutique co-ords, and general fashion shops carry festival skirts in the spring, but rarely in rave fabrics.

How to pick a rave skirt that stays put

Start with the waistband. A wide, stretchy band sits flat and does not roll; a thin elastic band is the one that slides down by midnight. Check the length against your height, not the photo. Reviewers here say it again and again: minis run short, especially on taller or curvier bodies. Wear shorts or a bodysuit under a mesh or micro skirt; it is the easy fix for jumping, sitting on the grass and windy stages. And think about heat and movement. Mesh, stretch knit and pleated skirts breathe, and a circle or skater cut gives you room to dance without riding up. Heavy sequin, vinyl and layered tulle look amazing and run warm, so save them for night sets.

Micro, mesh or layered?

Each style suits a different kind of night. A micro skirt is the lightest option and the easiest to dance in, with shorts underneath. A mesh skirt is a layering piece: over shorts, a bodysuit or a bikini bottom, it adds color and movement without heat. A layered skirt, tulle, tiers or a tutu, is the statement, best for photos and theme nights, and the most work to pack. If you only buy one, a mid-length stretch skater or pleated skirt in a color that goes with most of your tops gets the most wear.

Rave skirt fabrics, compared

Fabric decides how a skirt feels at 2 a.m. more than the cut does. Stretch knit and spandex are the all-nighters: they move, they wash and they forgive half a size. Mesh is the coolest option on a hot day, but it needs something underneath. Holographic and metallic fabrics look incredible under lights and feel a little stiffer, so pick a style with an elastic waist. Vinyl and faux leather hold heat and do not stretch, so size up and save them for cooler nights. Tulle and feathers are pure statement: light, but bulky in a crowd and hard to pack. Sequins sparkle the most and shed the most, and reviewers here say so.

A note on pricing and sizing

Sticker prices run from a $28.88 median to $79. Checkout is the number to watch: $28.88 to $69, because two of these stores show a crossed-out compare-at price on most of their skirts. On sizing, two stores offer a plus size or a 3XL on most of their skirts, each in a different way: a numbered 1X to 3X, or a letter 3XL on every skirt. Most of the rest stop at XL or XXL. For the whole outfit, our best plus size rave clothing ranking goes deeper.

Frequently asked questions

What is a rave skirt?

Short, light and built to move. Think micro minis, mesh wraps, pleated skaters, tulle tutus, usually in stretch, holographic, UV-reactive or sheer fabric. Nine times out of ten there are shorts or a bodysuit underneath.

What should I wear under a rave skirt?

Shorts. High-waisted, booty or bike shorts, or a bodysuit if the skirt is sheer. You will jump, sit on grass and stand in wind, and a skirt with nothing under it rides up on all three. Seamless styles lie flattest under mesh.

How long should a festival skirt be?

Long enough that you stop thinking about it. Micro needs shorts. Mid-thigh mini is the easy middle. Maxi works for daytime and cold desert nights. Tall or curvy? Size up or pick a longer cut; the reviews in this post keep saying the minis run short.

Are mesh skirts see-through?

Mostly, and on purpose. Treat mesh as a layer over shorts, a bodysuit or a bikini bottom. A few mesh skirts are dark and fairly opaque, so if coverage matters, read what reviewers say before you order.

Can I find plus-size rave skirts?

A few stores do it well. In our scan, two of the eight had a plus size or a 3XL on most of their skirts, and a third had a 1X on 10 of its 30. Honestly, the waistband matters as much as the letter: wide and stretchy beats a thin elastic every time.

How much does a rave skirt cost?

On scan day, median checkout prices ran from about $29 to $69. The middle of the pack sat around $40 to $50. Tulle, feather and big-sequin statement skirts cost the most, and they are the ones you wear for one night, not all weekend.
