I've always heard good things about Nocturnal Wonderland but I really had no idea what to expect for my first time. Having never attended an Insomniac Events festival, I felt like a real-life version of Alice stepping into wonderland.

Because this article isn’t about the basics. Let’s talk about the things you’ll want that nobody really tells you about. Some say the smart man learns from his mistakes, but the wise man learns from the smart man’s mistakes. 

I think the most common question I get from people who know I make kandi is how I get the perfect kandi knot. Although I’d love to be able to just use one knot, the reality is there isn’t any one “perfect” kandi knot. It’s all about knowing which knot to use in what situation. Here is a list of some of my favorite kandi knots!

Camping festivals are a world of their own. They are my favorite; the vibes are unbeatable, and the party never stops. As a result of my obsessing for the next camp out, I prep early and excessively. As a result, here are some tips learned through trial and error. There’s a LOT to be said about camping fests, so I’m going to try to brief and keep an eye out for more in the future! Instagram is a powerful social media platform that connects ravers from all over the world through beautifully presented photos. I love going through event hashtags to reconnect with ravers I had met and traded with when I forget to exchange contact information. Sometimes you’re meant to only cross paths with a person once, but sometimes those small interactions blossom into friendship. 

First time ravers have so much to look forward to! Being at a rave is such a unique experience, and everybody always remembers their first one. But sometimes going to your first rave is so different than anything else you have ever been to and you get so overwhelmed with excitement that you aren’t always fully prepared. Don’t worry, we love to make sure all the rave babies have the best time possible.

What started as a small party on a family farm has since grown to become one of Canada’s most beloved festivals. From August 7 -10, Shambhala will take place on that same farm, but its family has expanded to a sold out crowd of over 10,000 each year.
