For the last 21 years,  thousands of ravers have been flocking to the Pacific Northwest to unite under the Seattle sky for this annual Halloween rave. My Incredible Experience at Bass Canyon

For many months, I dreamed about going to the Gorge Amphitheatre for a festival. Seeing the photos of other events and festivals taking place at that gorge-ous venue and the amazing views of the Columbia River and mountains made me determined to visit this venue. Earlier this year, I saw that Bass Canyon, a new festival hosted by Excision, was taking place there. After seeing the lineup and location, I knew I had to go. Full on production, lasers, all things bass, The Paradox, scenic views- what more could I ask for? I took a flight to Seattle, rented a car with my best friend, and we took off for the Gorge Amphitheatre with our car full of camping gear. Continue Reading

The No Judgement Zone: Rave Fashion and Acceptance of Others

No matter what city you’re in or what your situation is like, to make someone intentionally feel like they don’t belong is exactly what we don’t need in the EDM community. Judgment doesn’t belong in this space! No matter the subgenre or the type of event, why would you try to make someone feel uncomfortable or out of place? After a particularly uncomfortable experience, I had last year, I really try to stay super aware at shows I go to, making sure to ask people how they’re feeling if something seems off.  Continue Reading

Playa Themed Outfit Inspiration

Planning for the playa offers some very fun planning aspects, such as creating a week straight of festival fashion! I highly recommend planning these outfits early. The festival itself is 7 days, and you’ll need an outfit for each day and night due to the drastic change in temperatures. That’s a minimum of over 14 outfits. Check out this guide for tons of outfit inspiration for dressing for the playa.  Continue Reading

7 Reasons to Add Sonic Bloom to Your Festival Circuit Next Summer

My one concern with attending Sonic Bloom with the iHeartRaves Unicorn Crew was attending and camping with people I had never met before. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was to become lifelong friends with my fellow unicorns. Having similar tastes in music and coming together to promote an awesome brand made it easy to wander into Sonic Bloom together like we knew each other for years. I am so thankful to have had the chance to listen to four nights of amazing music with two phenomenal women who have become my unicorn sisters for life.  Continue Reading
