Rave pants have a job most bottoms don't: get you from a hot afternoon set to a cold 2 a.m. walk to the car without a change. That's why the best rave pants split into so many shapes. Flares and bell bottoms move when you do. Cargo pants carry the phone. Chaps frame the legs over booty shorts, and a high-waisted cut holds everything in place through six hours of dancing. We scanned 8 stores' own pants, chaps and shorts collections on September 28, 2026, and counted live stock, sizes, styles, median regular prices and review scores. Then we ranked them on how rave bottoms actually get worn, with a pick for each of the four styles. This guide is one spoke of our wider look at the best rave clothing brands.
Here is how we weighted it, and why.
Style range (30%). We counted flares and bell bottoms, cargo, chaps and high-waisted cuts on every store's own bottoms, from the product title, type and tags, never the description. Then we looked at what else each shelf does well: reflective pants for photos, harem pants for dancing, zip-off legs that turn pants into shorts. No store here leads on all four styles.
Fit, sizing and plus (25%). Pants fail on fit before anything else. We read the size options on every listing and counted the pieces that offer a numbered 1X to 3X or a Plus size. 5 of the 8 stores here stop at letter sizes between XXL and 3XL, one runs letters to 6XL, and only two offer numbered plus sizes at all. We also counted what is cut for men or labeled unisex.
Trust and reviews (20%). Score next to count, every time. A 4.6 from 263 reviews and a 2.8 from 3 are not the same signal. We used Trustpilot where a profile exists, said so where it does not, and read on-site product reviews on the bottoms themselves.
Selection in stock (15%). A pants collection that is mostly sold out is a mood board. We scored the in-stock rate first and the orderable count second, both on scan day. Rates here run from 18% to 100%.
Value and shipping (10%). Value, not sticker price. Each store gets a tier from its median regular price, with the tier lines drawn in the real gaps of this set, and we checked what the tier buys.

Style counts read each piece's title, product type and tags. Counts, stock, sizes and prices scanned September 28, 2026; Trustpilot scores checked on the same date.
The brands, reviewed
1. iHeartRaves
iHeartRaves takes the top spot on fit, stock and trust, not on style count, and we will say so: it has the second-smallest shelf here and fewer pieces in the four styles we tabled than the specialists. Its pants lean flared and printed: flare or bell cuts on 23 of 132 and joggers on 18 of 132, and those two styles are most of the range. 63 of 132 are cut for men or unisex. The median is $54.95. Trust is where it falls: 2.8 on Trustpilot from 3 reviews, unclaimed, all about orders that did not arrive, though its product pages carry warmer reviews.

Best rave pants for specific needs
Best flare and bell-bottom rave pants
The shape that moves when you do. This is a depth table.
| Rank | Brand | Why it makes the cut |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Warrior Within Designs | Flare or bell on 120 of 150, the most by count here, in velvet and burnout; 139 of 150 in stock. |
| 2 | Devil Walking | Flare or bell on 57 of 276, 276 of 276 in stock, at a $39.99 median. |
| 3 | Badinka | Flare or bell on 37 of 78, often in mesh; 71 of 78 in stock. |
| 4 | One Stop Rave | Flare or bell on 23 of 132, sized 2XS to 6XL; 132 of 132 in stock. |
Where iHeartRaves lands: flare or bell cuts on 4 of 118, all 4 orderable, so it does not make this table on depth.
Best cargo rave pants
Pockets for the phone, the lip balm and the earplugs. Only three stores here sell cargo bottoms at all.
| Rank | Brand | Why it makes the cut |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rave Wonderland | Cargo on 49 of 198, the most by count here, plus zip-off legs on 26 of 198; 155 of 198 in stock. |
| 2 | iHeartRaves | Cargo on 6 of 118, all 6 orderable, most of them reflective cargo joggers in men's and unisex cuts. |
| 3 | Dolls Kill | Cargo on 28 of 186, but only 34 of 186 in stock. |
Why iHeartRaves is second, not first: Rave Wonderland lists 49 cargo pieces to iHeartRaves' 6. iHeartRaves ranks ahead of Dolls Kill because its cargo is orderable, all 6 against 4 of 28, and because its reflective cargo joggers flash under a camera.
Best rave chaps
Chaps over booty shorts are the fastest way to change a look. This is a depth table.
| Rank | Brand | Why it makes the cut |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Badinka | Chaps on 25 of 78, the most by count here, often in mesh; 71 of 78 in stock. |
| 2 | Candy Catz | Chaps on 24 of 197, 23 of them orderable, at a $44.99 median. |
| 3 | Devil Walking | Chaps on 19 of 276, 276 of 276 in stock. |
| 4 | Rave Wonderland | Chaps on 12 of 198, including lace-up and grommet styles; 155 of 198 in stock. |
Where iHeartRaves lands: chaps on 3 of 118, 2 of them orderable, so it does not make this table. For how to wear them, our chaps trend guide covers the layering.
Best high-waisted rave bottoms
A high waist holds a look together through a long set. Only three stores here label more than 2 bottoms this way.
| Rank | Brand | Why it makes the cut |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Devil Walking | High-waisted on 170 of 276, the most by count here, mostly booty shorts; 276 of 276 in stock. |
| 2 | Warrior Within Designs | High-waisted on 55 of 150, mostly bells and flares; 139 of 150 in stock. |
| 3 | Rave Wonderland | High-waisted on 23 of 198; 155 of 198 in stock. |
Where iHeartRaves lands: 1 of its 118 bottoms is labeled high-waisted or high-cut, so it does not make this table.
What to look for in rave pants
Start with the waistband. A pair of rave pants that slides down by the second set ruins the night, so look for a drawstring, a wide elastic band or a high rise, and check what the listing says about stretch. Then the length. Flares and bells are cut long on purpose, which is great in platforms and a tripping hazard in sneakers, so read the inseam before you order and plan to hem if you are petite. Fabric decides the temperature. Mesh and light stretch knits breathe in the afternoon, velvet and fleece-lined joggers carry you through a desert night, and reflective fabric only shows its trick under a flash. Pockets matter more than people expect: a phone, a card and earplugs have to live somewhere, and chaps and most flares have none. And if you only pack one pair, a zip-off leg is the closest thing to two pants in one bag.
A few more names worth knowing
Freedom Rave Wear ranks for rave pants and bell bottoms, but its catalog feed is switched off and its pants pages loaded differently from one read to the next, so we left it unranked rather than print a count we could not stand behind. Etsy has handmade flares and custom chaps from many small sellers, which is great for a one-off and hard to rank, because a marketplace is not one store with one size chart.
A note on shorts, pricing and sizing
Rave shorts are in this count because they are half of most rave bottoms shelves, but we kept the booty shorts depth for our booty shorts ranking, which goes piece by piece. Median regular prices here run from $39.99 to $88, and 4 of the 8 sit between $50 and $60, the $$ tier the winner shares with Badinka, Rave Wonderland and One Stop Rave. On sizing, pants are less forgiving than shorts. Check the inseam and the rise, not just the letter, and know that only two stores here sell numbered plus sizes in bottoms. For the men's side, our best men's rave outfits ranking covers pants and joggers too.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best rave pants for a festival?
Depends on the hour. Hot afternoon? Something light and flared, or harem pants that breathe. Cold night? Joggers or cargo with a real waistband, ideally reflective so you show up in photos. Whatever the shape, check the size run and the stock before you fall for the photo, because that is where most rave pants shelves came up short in our scan.
Are flare pants or cargo pants better for raving?
Flares look better in motion and suit a dressier or '70s look. Cargo pants win on practicality: pockets, a sturdier fabric, a waist that stays put. Plenty of people bring both, flares for the main night and cargo for the campsite.
How do you wear rave chaps?
Over booty shorts or a thong bottom, never on their own. Start with the base layer, add the chaps, then keep the top simple if the chaps are loud: sequin, reflective or neon. Mesh and fishnet chaps are the easiest place to start, and they breathe.
Should you wear rave shorts or rave pants?
Rave shorts for heat and movement, rave pants for cold nights, dust and coverage. A zip-off pant, the kind where the legs detach, covers both. Otherwise pack a pair of each for any festival that goes past midnight.
Do rave pants come in plus sizes?
Some do, but it narrows the list fast. In our scan, only two of the eight stores sold numbered plus sizes in bottoms, and at one of them most of those were sold out. One more store runs letter sizes to 6XL. Filter by size first, then by style.
How much do rave pants cost?
In this comparison, median regular prices on rave bottoms ran from about $40 to $88, with 4 of the 8 stores between $50 and $60. Velvet and handmade bells sit at the top of that range; printed stretch pants and chaps sit near the bottom.
