With a passion for emotionally driven house music, Parker Andriese aims to create powerful and beautiful soundscapes that resonates with listeners on a deeper level. We talked with Andriese recently to discuss his journey from DJ to producer, his upcoming projects, and the significance of the rave community in his life. Join us as we explore his musical evolution, inspirations, and the personal philosophy that shapes their artistry.

iHeartRaves: Tell us about your music --how would you describe it?

Parker Andriese: Truthfully, I’m still trying to figure this out and imagine this as the never ending journey as an artist. I find myself attracted to emotionally driven house music. Think deep, progressive, powerful, and beautiful. At the root of it all, I want to touch lives through music.

"I really dig the simplicity here and how breathable they look. I’d rock these with a black T and some Sauconys."

iHR: You've been a DJ for quite some time and started producing more recently. What inspired you to make that jump from DJ to producer?

PA: Recognizing how much more of a positive impact I could have on others. I’ve always been passionate about personal development and creating the highest quality of life for myself and those in my circle. Marrying this with my love for music finally clicked - As the story teller, or artist in this case, I can have an infinite impact for good, regardless of the language, time, or location. I can share bits of me in hopes others feel more centered, loved, confident, or understood.

iHR: I loved what you wrote about your song "Patience With Myself". I think we can all learn that lesson and remind ourselves that growth takes time. How did you translate that feeling into music?

PA: I feel that the work I was doing outside of writing is what led to creating and finishing Patience With Myself. Exercising more, increasing intention around all that I was putting in my body, and becoming more aware of my thoughts & actions. Essentially raising my frequency and cleaning up my energy - the word used throughout the track, sampled from an interview of Mac. Energy.

"Comfy and pockets to hold all the things. Sign me up"

iHR: You often record sets out in nature—out on the Salt Flats, on rooftops, or overlooking Salt Lake at the Utah Capitol. What location has been your favorite?

PA: Yes! Thank you for checking out my YouTube. One of my favorites has got to be the Mission Beach set. Performing on a rooftop as the sun set over the beach fifty feet away was a magical experience.

"I would love to rip this at a summer set."

iHR: Are you working on any upcoming releases? If so, what can you tell us about them?

PA: I’m working on a number of projects with intentions to release in 2025. My goal is three singles and two collabs for the year. The energy ranges quite a bit from track to track, something I am quite happy about. In recent months, I started taking piano lessons to improve / be more intentional with my writing. I’m hoping this is felt in future work.

iHR: What does the rave community mean to you?

PA: Love this question. The rave community has spanned across my life since I was sixteen (I’m twenty-nine now). Needless to say, it’s adapted over the years as I have grown. I’ve come to love the safe space that it holds for so many. It’s truly beautiful and is damn near tangible at times. I hope as culture shifts, we can maintain this for time to come.

"A statement piece that keeps me safe on the dance floor."

iHR: What have been some of your favorite raves and festivals?

PA: Skrillex, Zomboy, Knife Party, Dada Life and Steve Aoki as a teenager were incredible. Attending EDC Las Vegas for the first time was one off the bucket list. Das Energy 2024 was beautiful. This was my first festival debut and full circle moment having attended so many shows at the Great Saltair. The biggest thank you to the V2 team.

iHR: Any upcoming shows?

PA: On the 31st of this month, I have the opportunity to open for Seven Lions and TINYCVT at Marquis Park City. An incredible win. I’ve got a few things in the pipeline for Utah shows in 2025 and goals to play in surrounding states.

"These call for a pool, a drink, and friendship."

IHR: Tell us about your festival style.

PA: I’ve always been one to lean towards comfort. Comfortable clothing, supportive shoes, and now, some good ear protection. Something I wish I would have taken seriously earlier on. I’ve always got to have some kandi on me. For the culture, and always a great experience giving away. Making kandi before shows was a fun tradition my brothers started back in the day and something I’m working to keep alive today.

iHR: If you made a piece of kandi right now, what would it say?

PA: Consistency, Breathe, Peace, and Kindness are all options that come to mind. :)
